Ok, so it has been forever since we updated anything on here, but well, we didn't have that much news. Until now anyway.

At any rate, here is Ezra Gene. He was born May 30, 2010 @ 2:19 p.m. 8lbs 4.5 ounces and 21 inches long.

We got to celebrate Isaiah's birthday while we were in Yuma...He had a pretty good time and got to eat some authentic Mexican food...

We took a trip over to San Diego so we could swim in the ocean....this was the first time in the Ocean for Brandon and Isaiah...

So this is what we woke up to this morning...and what Brandon got to scoop! This is not really a drift, either.
This is what yesterday was like pretty much all day...not so much fun.
Brandon and Isaiah sharing a snack. We just got a new camera that is easier to use for me (Amy) so I have been testing it out and taking more pictures than normal!
Isaiah loves shoes...he likes to try on all kinds!

Amy took this and I thought it was pretty cute. He is getting better around the camera and starts saying "cheese" whenever he sees it.We have started potty training and so far it's going ok. Amy has to do most of it since I am not at home all of the time. He likes to "bear down" though and it makes it easier to see when he wants to go.

We had a nice day on Sunday, and Isaiah got his first skinned knees of his life.

Since we had a snow day, we decided to make cookies.
After a really nice weekend, we got hit with 12 hours of rain and 8 inches of snow. So much for the last day of winter.

Well life has been a little hectic, but good overall....Isaiah is enjoying the nice weather outside...He found out that he can fit in the back of his dump truck like it's a wagon, so we have to take him for rides now..

I got a pick-up too....one of our friends had it and needed to get rid of it, so i got a good deal on it...it's an old forest service truck, and it's in pretty good shape for being 30 years old.

Last but not least, amidst the weeds and random sticks in our back yard, there is actually grass growing...If the weather keeps up like this, we might have an actual backyard this summer....

We got Isaiah to sit still long enough to take a decent picture, and it turned out pretty good.

We thought while the weather was nice that we had better take Isaiah outside and let him enjoy the snow. It's pretty nice havina park a half of a block from our backyard.

Well after serving us 3/4 faithfully (one burner didn't work) for the past two years we have decided to retire our old stove...It was amazing to turn the dial and see the right rear burner actually work tonight after the new stove was in place....

Someday maybe we will start working on the rest of the kitchen.....

We took Isaiah outside once again and got a much better picture of his costume..sorry for the high level of photoshopping, but it just didn't look right with the background it already had...

Anyway he actually likes to wear the costume now that we have gotten him used to it...so hopefully he won't throw a fit on Halloween...

Here are a few shots of Isaiah today....we took him to the park while we were taking John & Ann's family pic....I am almost done with their website (www.jadangus.com)....he really likes going down the slides and crawling over the cars....

We also are all ready to go for Halloween...I tried my skill at the sewing machine and found that I am not as good as Amy is with the sewing machine....but I still don't think it looks too bad, and I only had to rip a few seams back out...The coonskin cap looks a little more like a mullet, but it looks good in person....I will take a better picture when it is closer to Halloween...

Cloth Diapers and a Sandbox......

Since school started life has definitely been hectic around here...we have lots of stuff going on and it seems like we are always one step behind...lots of side projects, but hopefully we can take it easy in November....

For anyone who may or may not be thining of getting Isaiah any clothing...we are no longer accepting "onesies" :) He is way to squirmy when we change diapers and they don't seem to fit him well since he is sort of tall....

So not only did we switch to cloth diapers, Amy started making her own as well...here we see Isaiah modeling a stylish one piece.....I have to admit that it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be, and it's nice not to have to buy diapers when we go shopping...We also got a sandbox finally...so far it has been the only thing we have in possession that has kept his attention for longer than 10 minutes at a time....

We also finally got our back patio done and underground sprinklers put in...we will hopefully plant grass shortly....

We have been kind of busy with the family reunion and a people staying with us for the past few weeks...we have lots of pics to put up, so stay tuned...
Amy running the Crawford 5K....The Colter Run in Chadron...it is quite possibly the worst route they could have designed for a 5k...

We took Isaiah outside since it was warm....we found out his walker does not work so well in the grass though....We took turns running through the sprinkler with him.....

It's been slightly hectic, but we are now done with school and officially into wedding season...right now we have five for sure, and 6 and 7 are hopefully a go....

Isaiah can walk a little if he uses the walker...he would much rather crawl though....

Weird weather and other things....

We ended up with at least 5 inches of snow in the backyard...it was really wet and slushy....and the next day it was 60 degrees....all of the snow is gone....I think Chadron has pretty much turned into Canada in some ways....
Isaiah is trying to help clean up a little....

Isaiah really likes to ride in the laundry basket....

He is getting much better about holding onto things now and can actually ride the horse around the basement...As soon as the weather is continuously nice, we will see how he does out in the grass....

Yes that is right, we are posting with reckless abandon and making more than one entry this month....

We have had some nice weather and Isaiah actually likes the grass.....he tries to eat most of it, but unfortunately I don't think he is as efficient as the lawn mower....

So we have determined that we may possibly have the worst backyard in existence.....if anyone feels at all bored this summer and would like to do any work, they are more than welcome...we are hoping to find an Extreme Makeover Backyard Edition or something like that....

It has been a hectic month or two and we are finally getting back into the groove of things...here is a picture of Isaiah on Easter Sunday....

At Jeff & Becca's while Matt was blowing bubbles...Isaiah tried to catch them, and got one at the end....
We have been trying to get him to pull himself up off of the floor, so we took a couch cushion off and bribed him with a cookie....apparently he will perform superhuman feats for a chocolate chip cookie....

Jeff & Becca brought Madisyn over and Isaiah had fun crawling around on the floor....he thought it was great, the look on her face speaks her true feelings......

We have had a busy past few weeks....a new floor for our upstairs and a quick trip home have been our big ticket items....

Isaiah started doing the inchworm on Thursday, so we think he will be crawling a few weeks or so....he is much faster now.....

His first experience with a balloon....luckily, it didn't pop...but he loved the sound that it made when he touched it...
He has three teeth coming in now....he is pretty good though and they don't seem to hurt him too much....
He loves to ride on my shoulders....

Well with 7 months of practice behind him, Isaiah officially wrecked the horse...we would just like to say that we had nothing to do with his driving ability....the giraffe appears to be in the worst shape, but we think he will make it....

Well Isaiah finally started sitting up on Sunday...it was sort of an accident, but now he is pretty good at it...we did have to start putting pillows behind him though since he has a tendency to fling himself backwards...

We took Isaiah out in the snow for the first time on Christmas Day...he liked it until we let him touch it and then he decided he didn't like the cold snow....

Well it has been a busy few weeks for us...Isaiah started eating real food and as a direct result has decided that the bathtub is the best place for bowel movements...bath times leave us in a constant state of anticipation and have tested our reflexes...I think Amy may have some of the best reaction times in the world now....

We officially have entered round 1 of the mudding and taping, with hopes that we will be able to put a Christmas tree downstairs (while it is still in season)...hopefully we can make that happen...

We have been trying to use the bouncer to see if he really likes it, but we are thinking that it must be acquired taste like his stroller was....he can get his feet going pretty good, but his back is still not strong enough to do it for a long time.....
Heather also brought Averielle over for a little while and Isaiah actually sat with her on the couch for a while....it is funny to watch them notice each other and Isaiah tried to put the moves on....

Semi-disturbing, but also cute....blackmail for later in life if they actually ever date :)

So it might be hard to tell exactly what it is, but we promise that it is in fact a giraffe...well, actually we have come to terms that it might be a horse..We already threw the packaging away and upon further inspection we are pretty sure it really is a horse...sorry for any confusion :)

Well we definitely got some drywall on the walls and ceiling, I have a few pieces to finish up and then it is time to start the splendid duty of taping....it makes it feel a lot newer and just really different....We were goofing around with Isaiah while I was home for lunch and thought it would be pretty funny to see how he looks with our glasses on...he sort of looks like Chris Farley as Matt Foley on SNL....pretty stinkin funny though.....
He definitely did not like Amy's sunglasses though, nor was it quite as funny....

We went back to visit Amy's family for the weekend, and Isaiah got to meet a few more family members....

Sorry we haven't put much up here recently...seems like everything is just going too fast...we are getting closer on the basement and actually hung the first sheet of drywall up tonight....hopefully that means it will be a quick process now and will be ready by Christmas....

Well Isaiah is officially 3 months old now....growing pretty fast too and definitely getting the drooling down.....seems like he soaks as many shirts as he does diapers...He weighed 14 lbs 7 oz. today and is stretching out to 26 1/2 inches long...

This is Isaiah with Averielle again...they have been spending a little bit of time together and they have finally started to notice each other as well....
We thought we were keeping his fingernails trimmed short enough, but I guess we were not....he scratched himself pretty good and didn't even seem to notice it....it is healing pretty well now and is actually mostly gone....

He gets this look a lot when we are holding onto him...seems like he is really ready to get moving, but he is not crawling yet as much as he tries...
He does this a lot now too...it's pretty cute and he likes to snuggle when he is tired...Wearing his new favorite outfit that Aunt Jess & Uncle Ben got him....

Grandpa's Birthday

Here are some pictures of Grandpa Horst's 90th Birthday. It was our first long trip with Isaiah and it went ok. Apparently when he sleeps for a long period in a car, he thinks it is fun to wake up several times during the night....other than that he was pretty good....

Heather brought Averielle over for a playdate and so Heather and Amy could go to MOPS...Averielle is about 2 weeks older than Isaiah....she sits up a lot better though and can actually hold her head up...Isaiah is getting better, but still has a ways to go....

We also had a doctor's appointment and Isaiah was 25 inches long and 12 lbs 3 oz....although it is hard to tell since he is sort of scrunched down here....

We took Isaiah outside to walk in the grass....We're not sure if he really liked the grass or not, but it looked cute...

It has been a while since we updated, so here ya go...

Brandon is officially back at work, Amy is at home with the boy and starting to promote the piano lessons (we are praying that it takes off) so far she has around 6 and counting so that should help out...

Isaiah is also growing pretty quickly....We measured him and he is over 24 inches long and pretty sure he weighs over 10 pounds (we didn't have a good scale handy, so I had to hold him)

Isaiah also learned how to suck his thumb on Sunday...we are not sure what to think about that at the moment....
If you scroll down far enough you can witness his first ride in the stroller and this is a picture of his most recent ride...he doesn't mind it nearly as much now and can go for at least half an hour without making a sound.....

We bought him some pants too and they are definitely too big at the moment...We are also learning that a baby can look completely different in one picture from the next...He almost doesn't seem like the same baby in all three of these....
We are also trying the video feature that they added so here is a short one of him waving in the tub....

1 Month Old!

Well it is hard to believe that it has been one month already. He is definitely growing and it's hard to notice day by day, but his newborn clothes are definitely maxed out now...

He really does like his baths now and we thought his bath towel made him look like a little homie....
He does like to sleep on my chest most times and he laid there for 2 1/2 hours on Sunday...Our most current family photo.....
He has two positions when he is getting burped...We call this one the old man.....
And this one is the monkey...
It's great how 99% of the population gets the deer in the headlights look every time you take a picture....

Tonight we tried out a real bath with him and it seems that he likes having his feet in the water and actually had a good bath when he calmed down...He also definitely has a pot belly going on...

Well my masculinity took a hit when Amy informed me that I was to wear the Snugli when we take Isaiah for a walk...the things you do when you have kids....I will take this opportunity to say they are worth their weight in gold though....
We actually got him to smile a little too....every once in a while he seems to like me :)

I know it's pretty cliche, but babies really are cute when they are sleeping...especially Isaiah

A day full of firsts....

It all started out great and he even slept for a little while.....We have found that he likes to put his hands up around his head and kick back...he is very good at this.....Then we thought he might like to go for a short walk around the block, and we found out that we were very wrong....We also though that giving him a bath might help him get ready for a feeding and settle in the the night....it works, but he hates being out in the open....if you can't see the look on his face just imagine the tears :)
Then after a bath and a short lotion massage he loves us once again....

We got to bring Isaiah home with us today and so far he is adjusting fairly well. He loves to swing in the living room and we are a little nervous about him being here the first night. He is eating good so far too.

We went to the Crawford 5K on the 4th. We walked two and a half miles and jogged the other half mile. It didn't motivate the baby to come out, although I (Amy) was a little bit sore. It was fun, though, and our other 5K friends did awesome on their running times. Oh well, there's always next year!

We are working on the house still but here are some pictures of the baby room and the basement....The baby room is still a work in progress since we don't know if it is a boy or girl....if you have any good decorations feel free to pass them along!

Thanks to the hail storm we are going to get a lot of paintless dent repair for our car and new roof and gutters for our house...

The basement is coming!

We finally have indoor plumbing! Now we can join the rest of civilization. Well, sort of.....

So far we have re-done the plumbing to all of the fixtures and have all new drains for the house. It was a little expensive and a huge pain in the butt, but well worth it now to have good plumbing and be able to keep rolling on the basement.

We also have new concrete in the floor and are in the middle of adding extra floor joists to the help ease the burden of the 70 year old ones....

The baby room is ready as well and just needs a few things on the walls...

Changes Coming

Well, we are in the middle of trying to get rid of the old website and replace it with something a little more "live" and hopefully it takes a lot less work for both of us to keep things updated.

We have two more weddings to shoot for this year, construction to complete here and in Colorado, and a baby due in July....things are going to get a little busy...
